Having gone through the process of building a Website from scratch, I have to admit I found it very rewarding. Buying persona’s will look for social proof first by checking out your personal LinkedIn Page, then your Company Page and if configured correctly will find a link here to your website. They will then check out your website and if it isn’t of the same or better standard as your LinkedIn pages you will lose credibility and potentially a client.
If your branding is not aligned or it’s apparent that your website hasn’t been updated for a while a potential buyer will lose confidence that you are the company to help them. It needs to be vibrant, easy to navigate, include information that is useful to the visitor so that they spend time learning something new about your business and leave being closer to buying from you than when they jumped on. They will often then circle around again to make sure they have all of the facts about your solution to make an informed decision or at least what action to take next.
